Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for O. L. Hennesy, 75 at the Henderson funeral home in Toledo, in charge of the Rev. Robert McCanon, pastor of the Toledo Evangelical united Brethren church. Mr. Hennesy died Sunday morning in the Rogers hospital in Toledo after a long illness. Burial was at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Pall bearers were John McCreary, Roy Christensen, Martin Christensen, Charles Head and Lester Emerson. Mrs. F. J. Kremenak and Mrs. Frank Millard were in charge of flowers. Mrs. C. E. Lewers and Mrs. F. L. Flynn accompanied by Mrs. J. E. Elston, sang hymns during the funeral.
O. L. Hennesy, son of Morris and Catherine Hennesy, was born August 23, 1872 on a farm east of Toledo. He attended the rural schools and on November 26, 1903 was married to Pearl Harris. They lived on farms near Toledo and when their youngest child, Arthur was eight weeks old, Mrs. Hennesy died November 15,1913. In 1921 Hennesy moved to Toledo where he served as custodian at the court house for 18 years, a faithful public servant.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter – Dallas of Dysart and Arthur of Toledo and Mrs. Loue Garner of Puente, California. He also leaves seven grandchildren – Orrie, Keith, and carol of Dysart; Hollis and Ellen Gardner of Puente and Donald and Darold Hennesy of Toledo.
