Vard Linden Hurst, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997.

Vard was born in Colonia Dublan Chihuahua Mexico on December 8, 1908, the son of Walter F. Hurst and Hannah Alzada Anderson.He married Myrtle Geneva Pierce on April 10, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He lived in Ogden for 55 years, and has lived in Layton for the past 12 years.

He is survived by his wife; six children, V. Linden (Darlene) of Salt Lake City; Julaine (John B.) Moore of Pueblo, Colo.; Janet (Harold A.B.) Gardiner of Billerica, Mass.; Roger F. (Anita) of Centerville; Ralph E. (Barbara) of Brigham City; and Patricia (Steven L.) Carver of Layton; 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Leola Beck of Ogden; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
