Arthur R. Jockisch, 55, 4 Dennison Avenue, died Sunday at 8:50 p.m. in Mercy Hospital after a 3-year illness.
He retired July 1, 1975 as superintendent of mails at the Mount Vernon Post Office, where he worked 15 years. A World War II veteran, he served 20 years as chief warrant officer (CWO-2). He was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Jockisch is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mary Ann, at home; 2 sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Annabelle) Hayes, Akron and Mrs. Oscar (Berneice) Barbee, Birmingham, Iowa; and 3 brothers, Homer of Shipman, Ill., Clifford of Jacksonville, Ill., and Lloyd of Godfrey, Ill.
Friends may call at Dowds-Wiggins Funeral Home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Lester Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
