Mrs. Bertie Lee Arnold McLean, age 95, of Crockett passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 in the Houston County Nursing Home. She was born August 22, 1916 in Pennington to E. B. and Ollie Smith Arnold. The Arnolds moved to Crockett where she grew up. She married Harry McLean on March 23, 1940. She worked for the ASC office for many years where she retired. Mrs. McLean was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1949 serving on several committees. She enjoyed traveling abroad and geneology was one of her favorite interest. She was a member of the Major Jarrel Beasley Chapter DAR, David Crockett Chapter DRT, Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia: Colonel James XVII Centery.

Mrs. McLean is survived by son James E. McLean and wife, Sheila; step-grandchildren, Jeff Bobbitt and wife, Talitha of Palestine, Sissy Lively and husband, Randy of Crockett, Jeremy Bobbitt and wife, Dylis of Weches and Ryan Bobbitt of Grapeland; step-great-grandchildren, Haylei and Colton Lively, Jordan, Jason, Justin and Jax Bobbitt; nephew, Jared (Jerry) Arnold Anderson and great-nephew, Jared Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry McLean in 1990; sisters, Myrtle Arnold Blankenship and Wilma Arnold Anderson Hurst.

She loved her friends, playing bridge and painting with watercolors. Memorial services for Mrs. Bertie Lee Arnold McLean will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tomas Spath officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund at the First Presbyterian Church.
