My mother was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor the same month that I found out I was expecting a baby. She was able to stay alive to see Lauren Noreen Bateman and passed away 24 days later.

Noreen Nielsen Chapman, born September 20, 1937 returned to her Father in Heaven on February 25, 2012.
Noreen was born in Garfield, Utah to Grace Evelene and Floyd Lynn Nielsen. She grew up in Magna, Utah, attended the local schools and was a graduate of Cyprus High School Class of 1954.
She also attended Salt Lake Community College. Noreen was a talented musician; she taught piano lessons for several years and was a life member of the Lowry Organ family. She married her high school sweetheart Rod Chapman for time and all eternity, and shared their lives for 58 wonderful years. An avid reader who enjoyed cruises, bus tours and visits with her children. She and Rod served an LDS Mission in Alaska. They also managed the LDS Employment office in West Jordan on an 18 month service mission. Noreen retired from the Jordan District school lunch program where she served for 17 years in various secretarial positions.
She is survived by her husband Rod, two sons, Jeffery (Diane), Brad (Denalee), and two daughters Elizabeth (Jeff) Schroeder and Kathy (Heath) Bateman, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Noreen was a dedicated friend, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her Savior. She was active throughout her life in the LDS Church where she filled many church callings. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dixie Breeden.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Westland West Jordan Stake Center, 7265 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to services. Interment at the Spanish Fork, Utah cemetery.
