Staff Sergeant Rhodes Lewis Brown, Army serial number 20445218, aerial gunner, US Army Air Forces, in 1944. He was killed in action on August 25, 1944, when B-17G 43-37980 was shot down over Rechlin, Germany. His body was recovered from the shore of Muritz Lake on September 24, 1944. He is buried at Ardennes American Cemetery.
