Abra was born in and spent her entire life in New Hampshire. At about age 25 she married Philip Colby in Salisbury. In 1820 they lived in Springfield in Cheshire County (now Sullivan County). They had nine children: John, Sally, Nancy, William, Rilly, Cindy, Samuel, and Clara.
Philip died in 1842, and she died five years later at age 86.
