Mrs. Hawkins was born Sept. 11, 1926 in Bishopville, S.C. daughter of the late Adolphus B. Martin Sr. and Evelyn May Bass Martin.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary at the torpedo factory in Alexandria.
Surviving are her husband Jesse Hawkins; two daughters, Dorothy L. Hawkins Rodgers of Berryville and Jill D. Hawkins Tennyson of Millville, W.Va.; a son Tommy Adolphus Hawkins of Charles Town; a sister, Mary L. Huntley of Bishopville, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
