Fred Ackfeld's father, "Franz Wilhelm Ackfeld", apparently died in a building accident in 1865. Fred's mother, Magdalena Ackfeld, remarried a few months later to Joseph Jurgensmier.

Ferdinand was buried on Mar. 6, 1940 according to his Missouri Death Certificate, from pulmonary edema due to chronic myocarditis. He was a retired carpenter at the time of his death.

Raymond Shaefer shared the following information: Hoer's Book on Marriages in or near Westphalia lists marriage date as well as their parent's names. Koeltztown Parish history book lists family's account on page 73. 1920 Census within Jackson Twp. near Koeltztown, enumerated on Jan. 9, 1920 lists Fred (Head), 61 years, married, farmer; Elizabeth (wife), 59 years; Joseph (son), 11 years; Phillip Kloeppel (grandson), 11 years; and Elizabeth (granddaughter), 8 years.
