Mary F. Connelly

Mary Frances Connelly, 74, of 400 Chestnut Street died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital after an illness.

She was a retired practical nurse at Kentucky School for the Deaf.

Survivors include her husband. James R. Connelly; two sons; Francis Hannah of Ontario. Canada, and William Hannah of Pennsylvania: seven grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held at Preston-Pruitt Funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Boyle County Hospice.

Mary Frances Hannah was born on May 25, 1908, in Braddock, Allagheny County, Pennsylvania, her father, Francis William Hannah, was 32, and her mother, Margaret Ellen Connelly Hannah, was 27. She was adopted by Mary McCue as an infant.

She was married several times:

1st: Harry Irvin Clark, they were married in April 1929. They had two children, Franicis Clark and William Clark. They divorced.

2nd: Alexander Frederick Moore Married in October 1939.

3rd: James Ramsey Connelly, they were married on May 4, 1970.

She died on May 21, 1983, in Danville, Kentucky, at the age of 74.

Couple Arrested; Alleged Kidnapping

An attempt to kidnap the 6-year-old daughter of Mrs. Mary McCue, 904 Tatbot avenue, Braddock, was made yesterday afternoon. according to Mrs. McCue and the police of the borough. A couple who gave their names as Mr. and Mrs. Hanna of Danville, Ky., was arrested. The pair drove to the front of the McCue home in the afternoon and the man knocked at the door. Mrs. McCue answered the summons.

She said the man brushed past her and picked the child up, carrying her to the automobile in which the woman was seated. Mrs. McCue says the man struck her. When he was carrying the girl out she caught his clothing.

One of the men residing in the vicinity took the child out of the machine before it could, be driven away. The arrests followed. The girl is said to have been Mrs. Hanna's and was adopted by Mrs. McCue when she was an Infant.

Hannah-McCue Habeas Corpus

The third attempt of Mrs. Maggie Hannah of Danville, Ky., to obtain possession of her only daughter, Mary F. Hannah, 7 years old, who is in custody of Miss Mary McCue, a cousin of Mrs. Hannah, in Swissvale, was made in habeas corpus proceedings.

According to testimony Mrs. Hannah was married in 1908 and went to Florida with her husband. It was found her husband's first wife, whom he thought dead, was living. Mrs. Hannah returned to her home and a child was born in the Braddock General Hospital.Hannah obtained a divorce from his first wife and remarried the second. They went to Kentucky. The child was left in Swissvale. Habeas corpus proceedings in Kentucky two years ago and in Pittsburgh a year ago failed to obtain custody of the child. The court yesterday took the papers..
