Mrs. Sallie Betts Dies In Hospital

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky., Dec. 27 (Special)-Mrs. Sallie M. Betts, 85, mother of William D. Betts, Nicholasville undertaker, died at 6:30 o'clock tonight at the Good Samaritan hospital, Lexington, where she was admitted Christmas Day.

Mrs. Betts was being taken to the hospital Christmas morning when the ambulance in which she was riding collided with a car driven by an Ohio motorist at the intersection of North Broadway and Fourth streets in Lexington. She was thrown from the litter by the impact, but did not suffer any serious injuries in the fall.

She was the daughter of the late James and Maryann Jacobs Burdine.

Survivors include another son. J. B. Betts of Batavia, Ohio: two daughters, Mrs. Jane B. Eastburn, Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Ernest Rea, Philadelphia, Pa.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grand- children.

The body was removed to the Betts and Holcomb funeral home here where services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. W. A. Hearn. Interment will be in Maple Grove cemetery.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Betts and Holcomb funeral home for Mrs. Sallie M. Betts, 85, widow of James Betts and mother of William D. Betts, Nicholasville undertaker. She died at the Good Samaritan hospital Saturday night. She had been admitted to the hospital Christmas Day. The Rev. W. A. Hearn, pastor of the Nicholasville Presbyterian church, officiated and burial was in Maple Grove cemetery. Besides her son Mrs. Betts is survived by another son, J. B. Betts of Batavia, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Jane B. Eastburn of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Ernest Rea of Philadelphia, Pa.; nine grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
