SPRINGFIELD - Margaret Elizabeth Sikes, age 82, passed away on October 15, 2009. Born in Guyton, GA, she was the widow of George Marvin Sikes and preceded in death by two siblings Francis Porter and William L. Helmey.
Survived by one son, Raymond Sikes and wife Kathy Sikes, and one daughter Lisa Brown and husband Allen Brown, one brother John V Helmey, three sisters, Betty Holcomb, Doris Reddy, and Mildred Owens, and one half sister Arlene Barner. Three grandchildren, Steve and Raymond Chapman, and Bryan Sikes. Two stepgrandchildren Allen Brown Jr and Stephanie Wagner. Six great grandchildren Devon, Kyle, Allen, Jade, Ryan and Ella Chapman. Two step great grandchildren Turner and Campbell Wagner. Two brothers in law Willard and Ellis Sikes, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the funeral home from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Ellabell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Remembrances: Effingham Extended Care Center and staff, Springfield, GA for their loving care during her time of need.
