Nettie Louise Brenden was born June 20, 1896, and was baptized in July of that year in Albaton, Iowa. She moved with her parents, Helge H. and Marit (Doken) Brenden to Minnesota where she was confirmed at the St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Nettie attended Cottonwood High School and later attended Madison Lutheran Normal School, after which she taught school for several years.
She was married to Bernhard Mauland on March 18, 1925.
Nettie passed away at the Weiner Memorial Hospital, Marshall, Minnesota, on Tuesday, March 8, 1983, at the age of 86.
She is survived by her husband, Bernhard of Cottonwood; and two sons, Burton and his wife Marion of Cottonwood and Lyle with his wife Marj of Grand Forks, North Dakota; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Philip; and one granddaughter, Susan.
