Verda B. Browne
BUTLER - Mrs. Verda B. Browne, 79, of Sugar Creek Rest Home near Butler and formerly of Butler, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 17, 1902 in Olanta, the daughter of Warren and Myrtie (Walker) Rowles.
She was a member of the North Street Christian Church of Butler and the Loyal Women's Class of the church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey W. Browne, on Jan. 1,1972, and by one son
and three sisters.
She is survived by these children: Homer K., Butler; H. William Jr., Allison Park; Richard B . , Butler, and Mrs. Daniel (Sarah) Bush, Port Charlotte, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, these brothers and sisters: Alvin Rowles, Osceola Mills; Earnest Rowles, Olanta; Mrs. Violet Bloom, Morrisdale, and Mrs. Clifford (Dorothy) Hockman, Clearfield, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 E. North
St., Butler, with the Rev. Stephen W. Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The family suggests contributions be made to the North Street Christian Church, West North Street, Butler.
