HOUSTON LOCAL ITEMS. March 1, 1878. The City Council met in regular session, a full Board present. Alderman Tracy made appropriate remarks on the death of Mrs. J. M. Tryon, wife of an ex-alderman and late assessor and collector, and moved that the council attend the funeral tomorrow. All voted affirmatively.

HOUSTON LOCAL ITEMS. Houston, March 2, 1878. FUNERAL OF MRS. TRYON. The remains of Mrs. J. M. Tryon were escorted to Elmwood (sic) cemetery this morning by the largest number of persons that has composed such a procession in Houston for many years. Forty-four carriages were in the line. Mrs. Tryon was most generally beloved by all classes of citizens, who testified their affection by following her remains to their last resting-place.
