Wesley Davis Unable to Flee Burning House
Home of Cicero Monroe and All Contents Lost
Wesley Davis, colored, about 80, was burned to death Wednesday morning at 3:30 when the home of Cicero Monroe, with whom he stated, in the negro section of town just east of College street was completely destroyed by fire.
The aged negro was paralysis stricken and feeble with age, unable to get out of the house. No others in the house were hurt, but the house and all its contents were destroyed.
