The funeral of John L. Eyer, who died Tuesday in Asbury hospital following a heart attack, was held at 2 pm Thursday at the Salina Funeral home. The Rev. James S. Elliot officiated.
Mr. Eyer, who had lived in Salina 40 years, once was a representative in Russia for the International Harvester company. He and his first wife, Anna, lived there two years and were forced home by World war 1. She died Mar. 25, 1951 and their son Clarence, died Nov. 3, 1951. In the middle 30s Mr. Eyer ran for state representative on the Democratic ticket. He was defeated by Morris Johnson, also of Salina.
Mr. Eyer is survived by his widow, Mable. They were married last December. The home is at 708 W. Crawford.
