Death came Tuesday evening to Eugene L. Eyer at his home, 579 North Third avenue, at the age of 83 years. He had been ill for four months and in failing health for the past four years.
A retired butcher and farmer, Mr. Eyer was a native of Bainbridge, Penna. He came to California in 1899, and had lived in Upland from 1910 to 1913, and continuously since 1926. He had previously resided in Waukena. He was a member of the Upland Brethren in Christ church.
Surviving are his wife, Anna M. Eyer; two daughters, Mrs. Allen D. Foote of Upland and Mrs. Cletus Naylor of Stowe, Penna.; two sons, Harvey H. Eyer of Avalon and George J. Eyer of Upland; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Daniels of Scott City, Kan., Mrs. Martha Winger of Modesto and Miss Rosa Eyer of Upland; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Eyer will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Brethren in Christ church. The Rev. Alvin C. Burkholder, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Bishop J. H. Wagaman. Entombment will follow in Bellevue mausoleum.
