Funeral services for Bolivar H. Pollard, 64, GM&O Railroad engineer, of 301 West Deaderick St., were held at 2 p.m. yesterday at McPeters Funeral Home at Corinth, Miss.
The Rev. Steadman Bagby of Jackson officiated. Burial was in Henry Cemetery at Corinth. Griffin Funeral Home was in charge of local funeral arrangements.
Mr. Pollard died at Friday in Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of a heart attack he suffered a few hours earlier. He went out on his midnight Thursday run, became ill at Humboldt, and was taken off the train at Trenton to be brought to the hospital.
He was born in Prentiss County, Mississippi, and lived in Corinth most of his life. He moved to the Jackson about five years ago. He had been employed by the GM&O for 35 years. He was a Mason, a member of the brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Irene Pollard; two sons, Ezekiel Pollard of Osceola Ark., and Carl Pollard of Memphis; five brothers, John Pollard of Jackson, Marcus Pollard of Booneville, Miss., and Charlie Pollard of Selmer, Tenn., Julius Pollard of Texas and Odell Pollard of Memphis, and a sister, Mrs. R. D. Butler of Hobbs, N.M.
