SELMER -- Charlie L. Pollard, 88, retired farmer, sawmiller and employee of Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East Peoria, Ill., died Friday at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, Miss. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Home of Selmer with burial in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethel Springs. He was a member of Tilgham-Beauregard Camp 1460 of Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Mr. Pollard, the widower of Lovie Pollard, leaves two daughters, Marie Pafford of Selmer and Joyce Tull of Corinth; five sons, Charlie Pollard Jr. of Water Valley, Ky., Herbert Pollard of Washburn, Ill., Billy Pollard of Pekin, Ill., Rayburn Pollard of Washington, Ill., and R. B. Pollard of Copperas Cove, Texas; a brother, Julius Pollard of Bossier City, La., 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
