Mrs. Jeanne Austin Redwine, age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. She was born July 7, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Dodson Austin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Freddye Kate Jackson Austin. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lithia Springs. She worked as a church secretary at Utoy Springs Baptist Church and later at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church. She was an outgoing people person, who never met a stranger. She loved witnessing the love of God to those she met. She was devoted to her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edward "Ed" Redwine on July 10, 2006; brother, Samuel Dodson Austin, Jr. and sister, Sarah Lois Austin Rooke.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Pam Redwine of Douglasville and Ann and Dennis Mitchell of Dacula; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Symantha Redwine of Lithia Springs; four grandchildren, Courtney Redwine of Lithia Springs, Seth Redwine of Lithia Springs, Aaron Mitchell of Dacula, and Eli Mitchell of Dacula; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the First Baptist Church Lithia Springs with Rev. Kevin McKoy, Rev. Mike Sinyard and Dr. Marion Beaver officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church Lithia Springs. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Lithia Springs, 3566 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Lithia Springs, Ga 30122.
