Of Louisville, died May 14, 2010, surrounded by her daughters in a circle of love. She was born in Jewett, Ohio, in 1932 and graduated from Jewett High School in 1950. She was a member of the Mother of Twins Club and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. In later years she volunteered at Calvary Mission. She loved the theater and was a fabulous actress! Her theatrical career began when she starred in high school plays, and continued throughout her life. From 1972 through 2002, she acted in productions for the Louisville Players, Canton Players Guild, Weathervane Theatre, North Canton Playhouse, Kent State Stark, Carnation City Players, Contract Players, and North Canton Playhouse, Senior Troupe. Anne was an outstanding gardener and always had a glorious profusion of flowers in her gardens. For several years she was a judge for the Stark Metro Housing Authority beautification program. She was free-spirited and loving and kind, always ready to visit and help family and friends. She was not just tolerant of difference, but embraced people of all kinds and taught her daughters to do that, too. Given to superlatives, Anne also appreciated beauty everywhere, and was enthusiastic and excited about the sunset, the ocean, and life in general.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Wells Rogers; father, R.K. Wells; and her brother, Roger Wells. She leaves behind her daughters, Susan Joyce, Beth Meiser and Trish Meiser, all of Louisville; her sister, Gretchen Wells DelSavio; brother-in-law, Ron DelSavio; her sister-in-law, Janet Wells; her grandson, Judd Coyle of New York City; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Susan and Ken Picklesimer of Cleveland; and many other friends. She is loved and will be missed by all.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday (TODAY) May 16 at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour before at the Stier-Israel Funeral Home, 917 East Main Street, Louisville, Ohio. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Monday May 17 at Fairview Cemetery in Jewett, Ohio
