Smith, Kristine Ann, 14, of 323 N. Second Ave., Paden City, died in an automobile accident Wednesday, June 13, 1962 at 4 p.m. at Allendale, SC. She was born in Tyler County, August 6, 1947, the daughter of Gail and Mary Belle Turner Smith who survive. She was a sophomore at Paden City High School. Surviving besides her parents are two sisters, Pamela Kay and Tamara Susan at home; two brothers, AIC Gary Smith, San Antonio, TX and Steven at home; grandmothers, Mrs. Maude Turner of Friendly and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Falls Mills. Burial was in Glen Haven Memory Gardens, Paden City.
--Miss Smith was killed while traveling to Florida for a vacation with Mr. and Mrs. James E. Jeffers and their son James, Paden City residents. The Jeffers car was struck by another car which had passed a truck on Rt. 301 and then collided with a Trailways bus, it was reported. Mrs. Jeffers' condition was reported critical by South Carolina authorities. The Jeffers' son was seriously injured. Both are hospitalized in Columbia, SC according to information received there. The elder Jeffers apparently escaped with only minor injuries. He was said to be driver of the car. None of the passengers aboard the Trailways bus were hurt.
