Carl Henry Stratman, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, who was suffering from cancer died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at Paloma Blanca Nursing Home.

He was born on July 26, 1916 in Cleveland, OH. His parents, Henry and Katherine Stratman died in 1929 and 1982 respectively. The Stratman family moved to Albuquerque in 1922.

Carl attended Saint Mary's School for 12 years and graduated in 1934. He later attended Western School for Secretaries. He served in the U.S. Army followed by a 36 year career for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1972. In 1971 Carl married Mary Ann Domenici.

He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus for 29 years. Carl served as assistant manager for 11 years and as finance secretary for 18 years.
