Robert "Tweety" Elsworth Abbott 82 of Canton, Ohio passed away Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Aultman Hospital Canton, OH after a short illness.

He was the son of the late Willie Abbott and Edith Ashley Abbott. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ova Swiney, Elizabeth Bierwirth, Nora Abbott, Juanita Abbott and Opal Abbott; brothers, Opie, Leslie, Richard, Clyde, Volley and Roy Abbott.

Tweety was retired from Republic steel in Canton, OH and was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran.

He is survived by: sons, Eddie of Charleston, WV and Bobby of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Pauline Parker, Irene Brisendine and Imogene Sloan all of Clendenin, WV; several grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 18, 2012 at Matics Funeral Home Clendenin with Pastor Ronald Swiney officiating. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery Clendenin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
