Violet June Stone, 89, of Vestal, passed away at her home on Thursday April 2, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Truman C. Stone in 1994. She was born in Clearfield County, PA on September 20, 1919 to George and Roxanna (Moore) Ross. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Jean Stone of Endicott, and Robert and Martha Stone of Homosassa, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jeff and Kim Stone of Windsor, Joelle and Mike Deuel of Endwell, Kim Hurliman of Apalachin and Chris Yacovone of North Carolina; six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kaylee, Joshua, Danielle, Kathleen, and Tricia; one great-great-granddaughter, Emma; one sister, Pearl Johnston of Niagara Falls; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Endicott, and the Eastern Star. She retired from IBM in 1982 after 28 years of service.
In honor of June's wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Broome County Council of Churches, 3 Otseningo St., Binghamton, NY 13903
