Kelly Fletcher, 85, of Big Stone Gap, passed away Saturday (March 11, 2006) in Torrance, Calif.

Mr. Fletcher was born in Roaring Fork and lived in Big Stone Gap before moving to Torrance, Calif. in 2003. He was a veteran, having served in the Army in the CBI Theatre during World War II.

Mr. Fletcher retired from Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio and was a member of the Clifton-Gaston G. Allen Masonic Lodge and the Norton VFW Post 4301. He was also a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Virgie Fletcher, of the home; daughter, D. Christine Hach and husband, Greg of Torrance, Calif.; one brother, George Fletcher of Big Stone Gap; three sisters, Betty Williams of Big Stone Gap, Sylvia Zirkle of East Stone Gap and Lovely Belgiano of Albany, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held Friday at Gilliam Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap. Masonic funeral rites were performed by the Big Stone Gap Masonic Lodge # 208 at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in the funeral home chapel with Associate Pastor Ron Leach officiating.

Burial followed in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap with military graveside rites accorded by Norton VFW Post 4301.

Pallbearers were Greg Hach, Jim Quesenberry, Stan Zirkle, Gary Grubb, Rick Gilliam, Bud Kress, Ken Gilley and Don Givens.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Emmit and Pearl Elassie (Stidham) Fletcher; four sisters, Faye Parsons, Georgia Lambert, Evelyn Thomas and Addie Fletcher Trigg; and five brothers, Frank, Paul, James, Fred, and Garnett Fletcher.
