Mrs. Betty Lou Willard Pierce, 53 of Cherry Valley, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001 at her residence in Cherry Valley.
Mrs. Pierce was a former nurse's aide at Wynwood Nursing Center and also was employed in the housekeeping department at Crestpark Nursing Home in Wynne for a number of years before retiring because of poor health. She was a member of the Cherry Valley Church of God and was married Oct. 23, 1968 of Mr. Danny Pierce, who survives.
Mrs. Pierce was born Jan. 13, 1948 in Newport the daughter of Willine Lively Willard and the late Bradford Lee Willard. In earlier years, she worked at the Hodges Nursery in Cherry Valley and was a former resident of Newport and Bakersfield, Calif. before moving to Cherry Valley, where she resided for most of her life. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and decorating her home.
Funeral service was 10 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Rev. Greg Crumley, pastor of the Cherry Valley Church of God, officiating. Burial was in Vanndale Cemetery in Vanndale.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Cherry Valley Baptist Church.
