He will also be remembered for his faithful dedication to College Lutheran Church as he has been a member since 1957, and also his employment to General Electric as he was employed for a near 28 years prior to his retirement in 1984.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Eller was preceded in death by four sisters, Izella and Ozella Eller, Virginia Akers, and Shirley Robinson; and daughter, Deborah Eller.
Family left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Dorothy McFarlane Eller; daughter, Sherrie Eller Sherertz and husband, Chris; son, Stephen Eller and wife, Robin; daughter, Mollie Eller Garrett and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Matthew Sherertz, Miranda Zintgraff, Paul R. Eller, Keri Eller, Stephen Garrett, and future grandchild, Baby Garrett; special grandchildren, Nick, and Kaitlyn Deaton; and three great-grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and also to their dear friend, Joe Kraft, for the care that they have given to the family.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the College Lutheran Church in Salem with the Rev. Wynemah Hinlicky officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
