Mrs. Rachel M. Spade, 95, of 614 Convent St., Gallitzin, died at 8:30 a.m. yesterday, May 18, 1975, in Altoona Hospital, where she was admitted April 10.
She was born Jan 7, 1880, at Sugar Run, Blair county, a daughter of Thomas G. and Mary Ann (Miller) Burkhart, and married John Jacob Spade, who died in 1940.
Surviving are three children, Irene, at home; Mrs. Thelma Rex of North Tonawanda, NY, and Thomas W. of Clayton, DE.; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, James of Canan Station and Levi of Altoona.
Mrs. Spade was a member of the United Brethren Church, Carson Valley.
SPADE - Services for Mrs. Rachel M. Spade of Convent St., Gallitzin, will be held in the Francis R. Lenz Funeral Home, Gallitzin, at 10 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. David Clapper. Interment in the Union Cemetery, Gallitzin. Friends will be received in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
