Leo Walker Hampton, 65, a life long resident of Clare, passed away at the Clare Osteopathic Hospital Saturday, June 26, following two months illness.
He was born November 3, 1905 in Sheridan Township, Clare County, the son of Ike and Nellie Hampton.
He was married to Annabelle Grover in Clare April 17, 1927 and retired in November, 1970, as an accountant of the Dow Chemical Co.
Surviving are his wife, Annabelle; one daughter, Mrs. William (LuAnne) Humphrey, of Clare; five grandchildren and one brother, Bernie Hampton of Harrison.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 28, from the StephensonDoherty Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Raleigh officiating and interment in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
He was a past master and life member of John Q. Look Lodge 404, and the Masonic memorial service was conducted Sunday evening funeral home. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 14 - Clare, MI - 30 June 1971)
