Annette J. "Mickey" Boyer, 77, of Virginia, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Diamond Willow assisted living facility in Mountain Iron.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1934, in Virginia to James and Esther (Burak) McDonald and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School.

On April 30, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert C. Boyer in Valdosa, Ga., and they raised three sons.

Mickey was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic church in Virginia and was a member of the Holy Spirit Bell Choir. She was an accomplished musician and played organ and piano in the Virginia Catholic Churches; played accordion with her childhood friend David Makynen and sang with the Looney Tunes and many other friends over the years.

Mickey was a homemaker until her children were all in school when she took a position in the school district with the lunch program.

After 21 years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher with St. Louis County, she retired in 1996. She loved to travel and saw much of this country and the world with her dear friend Margaret Erjavec.

She is survived by her best friend and partner Jerry LeClair; sons Daniel (Sharon Rowbottom) Boyer, James (Millie Wells) Boyer and David (Cathy Steele) Boyer; grandchildren, Jamie Boyer and Joshua Wells; great-granddaughter MaKenzye Boyer; special niece Jan Johnston; her beloved puppy Max and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Art and Robert McDonald and her sister, Helen Tuomi.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia.
