On this first day of May eighteen hundred and eighteen before me the subscribed one one of Associate Judges in and for the County of Coshochton and state aforesaid personally affiant Alexander C Brown aged sixty three years , resident in said County and State who being by me Duly questioned and ______ according to Law Doth on his oath make the following Declaration in order to obtain the provision made by the State and Congress entitled an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War, that the said Alexander C. Brown enlisted in Newark in the State of Delaware in a company commanded by Capt. Henry Darby of the Delaware Regiment in the year 1776 that he continued in said corps or in the Service of the United States until the end of the war when he was Discharged from in East town, State of Pennsylvania

Tolland County was created on October 13, 1785 and was formed from Windham County . The County was named After Tolland, Somerset, England.
