Toini was the daughter of Jalmer and Hilda Haapala and the wife of Charles Peltonen. Surviving were daughters Ingrid Buehler and Kathryn Griffin, and a sister Tyyne 'Tina' Witmer (Mrs. Oscar.)

Pictured is Toini's daughter, Ingrid, age 68, owner and editor of the "Polk County News" in Benton, TN passed away from cancer 19th September 2012. A memorial service was held on Thursday, the 27th in the courtyard of the "News."

She and her husband Randy Buehler purchased the "News" in 1983 and moved their family from Maryland to Polk County, Tennessee. The family included a son, Randy, Jr., and a daughter Cheryl, who purchased the "News" in 2009 and also serves as editor.

Toini lived with her daughter Ingrid in her later years and helped with the publishing of the "Polk County News", adding articles of interest from time to time.
