Funeral services for Herbert L. Thompson will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Four Square Church, with burial in the Mount Pulaski Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral home from 4 p.m. today until noon and at the church from noon Thursday until service time Thursday at the church. Masonic services will be conducted by Mount Pulaski Lodge 87, AF&AM in the funeral home at 8 p.m..

Mr. Thompson. 63, of Route # 1, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday in his home.

He was born Nov. 10, 1904, in Ripley County, Missouri a son of Ennis and Nancy Ann Hood Thompson and had lived in Decatur for 25 years. He was a steamfitter and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 65.

Mr. Thompson was a member of Foursquare church and a member of the board of elders of the church. He also was a member of Mount Pulaski Lodge 87, AF&AM.

He was married to Hazel A. Ritchey in East St. Louis in 1925. She survives.

He also leaves four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Norma) Fuhrer, Mount Pulaski; Mrs. Ronald (Betty) Crackle, Decatur; Mrs. Jack (Melba)Eads, Decatur; Mrs. Larry (Beth) Briney, Eureka, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. One daughter, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
