Caliph Luther Davis, 81, of Buffalo and Lincoln, died Thursday at abraham Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln.

Mr. Davis was born in Sevier County, Tenn., the son of William Lee and Ailcy Davis.

He married Mary Nancy Garner on March 14, 1914.

Mr. Davis retired 16 years ago from Fiat-Allis Corp.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Yeazle, of Dixon; Mrs. Jean Goretski, of Buffalo; and Mrs. Nancy Wolcott, of Lincoln; five sons, Dean, of Ludington, Mich.; Duppie, of Stuttgart, Ark.; C.L. "Bus", of Lincoln; Sam, of Dawson; and James, of Sullivan; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were at Fullenwider Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg.

Burial was in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
