Mary Randall Spear was born 7 May 1819 in Bowdoinham, Maine; married, first, Levi Dingley on 6 May 1843 in Bowdoinham, Maine; married, second, Charles Harvey Kies, son of Daniel Kies and Lucy Cady, on 27 December 1858 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she died 20 March 1901. Levi Dingley was born 24 June 1819 in Bowdoinham, Maine; died 3 June 1849, of cholera, in New York and was buried in Bowdoinham, Maine. From a letter dated March 28, 1932 written by Capt. Levi Dingley's daughter, Mrs. Levia Dingley Mix, to Stanton Storer Skolfield, she comments that: As to the names of the vessels my father commanded, I cannot tell exactly. All I know is the bark Abagern. You must see that he was very young, only a few days beyond 30 when he died. I suppose he was first mate until a few years of his death. I know that my uncle Robert was first mate for I have a letter from him to my father sent from New Dorp, Holland to my father at Amsterdam. Hobart Oliver Skofield notes that Levi Dingley's mother married Hatherly Spear in New York as his second wife. He says that Stanton Storer Skolfield made this note but there is a footnote
which leaves this matter unclear. The children of Mary Randall5 Spear and Levi Dingley were:

i. Son6 Dingley was born and died 22 November 1846.

ii. Levia Jane Dingley was born 9 March 1849; married Albert James Mix.
