Mrs. Elsbeth Wahlen, Dies at Home

Mrs. Elsbeth Wahlen, 78, of 2522 Chamberlain Ave., was found dead Tuesday (Nov. 21, 1972) in her home, where she lived alone, by a neighboring Madison policeman who was telephoned by Mrs. Wahlen's daughter at Neilsville.

Coroner Clyde Chamberlain Jr. said Mrs. Wahlen had died Saturday from a heart ailment.

Her daughter, Mrs. Irma Rizner, Rt. 1, Neilsville, called Police Lt. Fredrich J. Hall, 2525 Chamberlain Ave., to check on her mother after receiving no answer for two days to telephone calls.

Mrs. Wahlen, born in Switzerland, moved to Madison about 30 years ago. Her husband, Rudolph, died in 1950.

She was a member of Luther Memorial Church and Its Senior Citizens Club.

Surviving with the daughter are two brothers, Godfrey, in California, and Henry, in Colorado; a sister in Switzerland, and two grandchildren.

A private funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.. today in the Fitch-Lawrence Funeral Home, 636 University Ave., The family suggested that memorials be made to Luther Memorial Church.
