Mrs. Warren Planthaber
In the passing of the years, changes come to all of us, and today we are in the midst of one of these changes that seem hard to understand. In the reasoning of our finite minds, we find no answer, but there is one who understands, and w e can be satisfied to trust our all to the mind of the Infinite God, who never can err or be unkind.
Jenette Ellis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ellis, was born in Rockford, Sept. 26, 1903. She passed away at the Sterling public hospital, Oct. 1, 1941, at the age of 38 years and five days. She grew to womanhood in the place of her birth, and received her education in the public schools of Rockford. On July 3, 1922, she was united marriage to warren Planthaber, by Rev. J.J. Hitchens of the Rock Falls Methodist church. Since their marriage they resided in Sterling. three children were born to this union, Warren, Wayne and Joyce. Mrs. Planthaber was a devoted wife and mother. He chief interest were for the welfare of her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, and the community. She leaves to mourn her early departure, her husband and three children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ellis, one brother Howard [Howland] Ellis and one sister Juanita; also her grandmother, Mrs. Anna Faulkner of Rockford, and many more relatives.
Funeral services were held from the Melvin funeral home Saturday, Oct. 4 in the presence of a large gathering of sympathizing friends. Bishop A.C. Good was in charge of the services. The floral offerings were large and expressed in a silent way the esteem in which Mrs. Planthaber was held by her many friends.
Those acting as pallbearers were George, Willi, Harry, Oliver and Arthur Faulkner and Adolph Olson. Interment was made in Oak Knoll memorial park cemetery.
