PRESQUE ISLE, May 13, Fred L. Southard, 68, a native and lifelong resident of this town and flagman at the North Main Street railroad crossing for the past 42 years died at his home on Allen Street this morning. He had been in ill health for two and one half weeks. he was thesecond oldest member of the General Custer lodge, K. of P. and was long active in fraternal affairs. Funeral services will be at the residence on Allen street at two o'clock Saturday afternoon DST.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flora Jane Southard; four sons, Vernon of New Haven, Conn., Ernest, Donald, and Warren of Presque Isle; three sisters, Luona Thompkins of New York city, Mrs. Bessie Curtis, of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Mrs. Eva Wersig, of Portland, Conn.; five brothers, Burchard, of Portland, Dover of Kennebunk, Winn and Burt of Presque Isle and Theodore of Mapleton.
