This is a very old cemetery and many stones are almost smooth with wear, or are field stones without markings.
Thank you Betty (#46858568)for walking and photographing the entire cemetery.

Notes for OBED PIERPOINT:
Obed's farm in Loudoun County, Virginia where his father, Francis, set up a Friends meeting without authority and where later he died, was still owned by his descendants in September of 1953, and members of his family were living there. The Bible of Obed and Ester give a record of the genealogy of their family and is a cherished possession of the family. A tombstone bearing the initials O.P. and dates 1740-1830 was found in the Friends cemetery at Waterford, Virginia. It is surmised that Ester is also buried there.
One of the histories of Frederick County, Maryland indicates that Francis, John and Obed Pierpoint had been fined for refusing to fight in the French and Indian War. Being Quakers and conscierntious objectors, they had refused to take up arms. Francis was fined two dollars and sons, John and Obed, six dollars each.
Thank you Terri Wiseman for the Notes.
