Macey Ramsey Fitzgerald, 88, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, February 20, 2003 in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center. Mrs. Fitzgerald was born on December 7, 1914 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Simon Ramsey and Estell Hite Ramsey. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Harrison Fitzgerald and two sons, Claude Elvin Fitzgerald and Robert C. Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Fitzgerald is survived by three children: Lyle H. Fitzgerald, Gilda F. Allen, both of Lexington and C. Wade Fitzgerald of Kileen, Texas; one brother, Morris Ramsey of Fairfield; three sisters: Helen Painter of Waynesboro, Ethel Hite of buena Visa and Agnes Jones of Elkton; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the Glasgow Baptist Church with Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Glasgow Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
