Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of John S Douglas and Margaret Boyce and the husband of Pauline How Douglas. He died of carcinomatosis with metastasis to the brain. He lived at 516 Parkway, High Point, NC at the time of his death and apparently died at home.

Found in The State 14 July 1945: Albert G. Douglas, 73, former Columbia merchant, died at his home in High Point, N. C., yesterday afternoon. He lived in Columbia for about 20 years and has a wide circle of friends here. Mr. Douglas was born in Fairfield county, the son of John Simonton and Margaret Boyce Douglas. He was the only survivor of a large family. He leaves a widow, the former Miss Pauline Howe of Massachusetts; three children, Francis Douglas of Washington, D. C., Lt. John E. Douglas, USNR, and Miss Pauline Douglas of High Point, N. C.; and two grandchildren, John S. Douglas, Jr., and Frances Douglas of Augusta, Ga. The body will be brought to Columbia for burial and a committal service will be held Sunday morning at the graveside in Elmwood cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Louis C. Melcher, rector of the Trinity Episcopal church.
