Died in Weymouth 31 May 1657.
MARRIAGES: (1) By 1610 _____ _____. "John Oattis wife died" at Hingham on 28 June 1653. (2) After 1653 Elizabeth (_____) Streame, widow. She died between 22 September 1672 (date of will) and 17 July 1676 (probate of will).
No connection has been found between this immigrant and Richard Otis of Dover.
Many secondary sources give his first wife's name as Margaret and his age at death as seventy-six. Both of these statements are possible, but neither has been supported in contemporary documents.

John Otis married (1) by 1610 _____ _____. "John Oattis wife died" at Hingham on 28 June 1653.
They had nine children: Johanna, Johanna again, Elizabeth, Richard, Hannah Gill, John, Margaret Burton, Anna, & Alice.
In addition to the Glastonbury baptisms reported above, there was another child of a John Otis baptized, on 23 June 1604, a daughter but the name is illegible. Since the Glastobury register does not commence until 1603, and since the next baptism for a child of John Otis did not occur until 1610, we cannot be certain that this 1604 baotism belongs in the family of the immigrant.
After the baptism of son John on 14 January 1620[/1], no further records for this family occur in the St. John, Glastonbury, register,, although younger children were born to John Otis. For the last fourteen years prior to migration, therefore, we do not know where this family resided. They may simply have moved to the other Glastonbury parish, St. Benedict.
