VARNVILLE - Services for Mildred Mixson, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Deep Branch Baptist Church with burial in Deep Branch Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9 tonight at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Mixson, widow of Joseph Edward Mixson, died Saturday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Born Nov. 24, 1907, in Hampton County, she was a daughter of the late George Elmer Mixson and Susan Louise Peeples Mixson. She was a homemaker and a member of Deep Branch Baptist Church. She had lived at Harper Nursing Center in Estill for the past 17 years.
Surviving are a son, a sister, Sadie Priester of Cummings; a grandson and nieces and nephews; and step-nieces and -nephews.
