Funeral services for Helen A. Wittkopp, 95 of Glenwood City, Wis., formerly of Plymouth, will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 1989, at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Lloyd Foster, pastor of New Hope Methodist Church in Greenbush, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Greenbush Cemetery.
She died Saturday, Feb. 4, at Myrtle Werth Medical Center in Menominee.
The former Helen Wade was born on Dec. 8, 1893, in the town of Greenbush, the daughter of the late William and Veronica Herrling Wade. She was a decendant of the historic Wade House family who built the Stage Coach Inn in 1851 at Greenbush. She attended Greenbush schools and was graduated from Plymouth High School in 1912.
She taught elementary school at Waldo, Kohler and Hulls Crossing in the town of Greenbush.
On Sept. 22, 1915, she married Fred Limberg in Greenbush.
She was employed as a clerk and bookkeeper at the Schultz Bros. Dime Store in Plymouth, and at the Plymouth Canning Co., and as a receptionist and custodian at the Wittkopp Funeral Service.
She was married to George L. Wittkopp on Sept. 30, 1950 in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1957.
She moved to Glenwood City in 1961.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Glenwood City and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 33, in Glenwood City.
She had been a resident of Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glenwood City the past three years.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Allen W. (Ruth) Limberg of Glenwood City; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roberta Limberg of Glenwood City; a stepson, Warren (Dorothy) Wittkopp of Plymouth; a step-daughter, Mrs. Evelyn (Dr. Lloyd) Fifrick of Milwaukee; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and one brother, Donald Louis (Ruby) Wade of Temple Terrace, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Dr. Philip Limberg; two brothers, Allen and Hollis Wade; and one sister, Dorothy Sauve.
Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Thursday until time of service.
A memorial fund has been established for the Glenhaven Nursing Home.
