Alma Mae was the daughter of Roy A. Henderson and Nellie Robinson. In 1930, when Alma--the eldest of seven children--was 14, the Henderson family moved from Texas to Kansas City, Missouri.
On 29 Apr 1933, Alma married John Raymond Fenzl (Jr.) in Jackson County, Missouri. Alma and John had two sons: John Raymond (III) and Billy Dean. John died 3 Feb 1945.
Alma then married Harry Norem on 2 Feb 1946 in Jackson County, Missouri. Harry died in 30 Mar 1985 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
According to her obituary, Alma worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant during the war and Safeway Supermarket, ending her career with 40 years as a bookkeeper at Western Auto.
After her retirement, Alma moved to El Dorado Springs to be closer to her family. She was active in the First Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school to all ages, until her health failed her.
Alma took great pride in her family and her home. She loved her flowers and plants, especially her peonies, and enjoyed working in the yard.
Alma died in her home on October 21, 2000.

Alma was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, John and Harry Norem; two sisters, Melba Luik and Pearl Brooks; and one brother, Billy Henderson.
Alma's funeral services were held Oct. 25, 2000 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. G. H. Sublett officiating. Musical selections were provided by Faith Trussell.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO, under the direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Mert Fogler, Ed Friar, Steve Broughton, Robert Roe, Harold Mattingly and Merle Hicks.
