Arthur Dennis Meehan is the fifts child born to Charles and Hester Meehan and the first born in Nebraska. Den grew up in Overton, moved with his family to Cherry County, NE then on to Alliance in Box Butte and finally settled in Omaha. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov, 28, 1907, Den married Ida Mae Shores in a double ceremony with his sister Rosetta who married Ida's cousin, Charles Speese. Among ohter things Den is remembered as a pioneer teacher in Cherry County.
