Rosetta is the daughter of Charles and Hester Freeman Meehan. Rosetta married Charles Speese on November 28, 1907 in a ceremony with her brother, Arthur Dennis Meehan who married Ida Shores, Charles' cousin. Charles and Rosetta were the parents of seventeen amazing children. Husband Charles died in 1970 and is buried in Casper, Wyoming.

As of 5 March 2012 one son, Keith Allen Speese, is living. Find-A-Grave memorial sites for seven of the Speese children are linked here (Howard, Ava, Clifford, Kenneth, Norma, Nelson and Sylva).

Daughter Sylva Speese Davis and her husband Joseph A. Davis are buried at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Son Clifford Speese's wife, Arquilla Mae Kriner Speese, is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota.

I was told long ago by a Speese cousin that Aunt Rose's favorite poem was Florence Jones Hadley's "Are All The Children In?" A mother ever mindful of her children - patiently waiting for all her children to be in.
