Wendell Scott Cole, age 46, of Bradford Lane in Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday evening, March 7, 2012, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born October 10, 1965, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Russell Cole of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, and the late Geraldine Thurman Cole.
Scott was a former construction worker and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, Scott is survived by his stepmother, Mary Alice Cole; his companion, Jodi Estes; one son, Justin Cole of Garrison, Kentucky; two daughters, Courtney Cole of Garrison, Kentucky, and Tierra Eaton of Galion, Ohio; Jodi's children, Haili and Cayden; two grandchildren, Markus Eaton and Miguel Walters; the mother of his children, Polly Tackett Cole of Garrison, Kentucky; and five sisters, Terri Lane Westhafer of Wooster, Ohio, Donna Kay Jamison and Rebecca Lynn Savage, both of Garrison, Kentucky, Delicia Carver of Piketon, Ohio, and Cynthia Faye Evans of Wheelersburg, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison, Kentucky, with Brother Wesley Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Skidmore Cemetery in Garrison, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, and until the service hour on Sunday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue, Garrison, Kentucky. A church service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Jake Tackett, Christopher Savage, Eric Switzer, Travis Hobbs, Jarrod Carver, and Bud Westhafer will serve as pallbearers.
Justin Cole will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
